Regular inspections
To enable ongoing maintenance and the safe operation of the system it must be kept in line with industry codes of practice and standards. The IET code of practice for Grid-connected Solar Photovoltaic Systems calls for “Regular inspections” and advises “All sites, no matter the scale, will benefit from an inspection regime.”

Code of practice
“The purpose of this Code of Practice is to provide solar PV system designers and installers with the information required to ensure that a solar PV system is designed, installed and commissioned to comply with relevant UK and international standards and good practice recommendations. Its purpose is also to ensure that the operation and maintenance of solar PV systems is safe and effective, and complies with the appropriate standards
This Code of Practice is aimed at ensuring safe, effective and competently installed solar PV systems. It will be of interest to a wide audience, including customers, owners investors, insurers and financiers of solar PV systems”.
